Come to Olympia and talk to your representatives about making our state laws better for pets!
The Humane Society of the United States will be hosting a Washington Humane Lobby Day in Olympia on February 12, 2009. I’m planning to attend so I can advocate for animals. Would you like to join me? Here’s a link where you can learn more and RSVP.
Thanks!

I think the laws should be strict for all breeders. I have issues with making any animal live in a crate, especially for just breeding purposes. It really bothers me. Also there should be a limit of litters per female. I have heard stories that breeders just keep letting them breed over and over and over again. Until there poor bodies are worn. I have read only one per year, in the bill, but I doubt they comply with that. I also believe all those involved in a puppymill should serve time. And have their photo released just like child molesters. And pinned up so the public can be aware and not let them do this again in another neighborhood.
I did some investigating today. I went to the Bridges Pets in Snohomish, (off Bickford) I asked to talk to the manager. There we’re puppies available. I asked if they give out the breeders name & address. If I was interested in any of the pups. They said they disclose that info only after the sale. It’s noted in their policy. I said how do I know if the pup was from a puppy mill. She said we check out the breeders but don’t check all of them. And they wouldn’t take any from a puppy mill. But I would have to purchase the animal before disclosing any breeder information. Buyer Beware>>>>.
